This story is representative of the day-turn Congressional coverage I worked on on the Hill. This piece tackles discussion and argument over the Land and Water Conservation Fund, an aspect of government that everyone seems to agree we need, but no one can agree on how to implement.

For this story, I attended a hearing on the One Trillion Trees Initiative, an effort endorsed by President Trump but which is viewed skeptically by environmental activists. Unlike many environmental issues, where there is a clear positive and a clear negative, the issue here is more murky. At question is where it is best to focus our attention as the climate crisis intensifies.
